Andrew Sellman
Andrew Sellman has been passionately involved in the art of bonsai for nearly 20 years, dedicating himself to continually developing his skills and deepening his understanding of the craft. Throughout this time, Andrew has undertaken several study trips to Japan to learn from some of the world’s most respected bonsai masters. His studies have included training at Fujikawa Kouka-en with Bjorn Bjorholm, Taisho-en under the guidance of Mr. Nobuichi and Taiga Urushibata, and most recently at Hiramatsu-en Bonsai School with Koji Hiramatsu, experiences that have further refined his technical knowledge and artistic approach.
Andrew has shared his knowledge and passion through demonstrations at previous AABC conventions, as well as through demonstrations and workshops conducted for many bonsai clubs and societies across Australia. His hands-on experience is complemented by his professional background as a qualified horticulturist, operating a successful landscape and maintenance business in the beautiful Noosa region.
Working daily with plants and landscapes continues to strengthen Andrew’s appreciation for horticulture, with bonsai remaining his greatest passion, bringing together artistry, patience, and a lifelong commitment to learning and sharing the craft with others.
